Privacy policy

We collect only what we need to provide the service:

• Account data: your name, email address and password (stored as a secure hash), or basic profile details if you choose to sign in with LinkedIn.
• Profile and questionnaire answers: your role, experience, goals, target roles and other information you provide during onboarding.
• Knowledge you upload: documents, links, notes, voice memos and past posts you add to your library.
• Content and activity: drafts, approvals, scheduled posts, job matches, applications, contacts and progress metrics you log.
• Billing data: plan, invoices and payment status. Card details are handled by our payment processor and never stored on our servers.
• Technical data: basic logs such as IP address, browser type and timestamps, used for security and reliability.

KnownBy never signs in to LinkedIn as you and does not automate actions on your account. When you paste a LinkedIn profile address, we read that public profile and its recent public posts through our data provider, Apify, and keep what we read with your account. If you connect LinkedIn, we use LinkedIn's official APIs only to sign you in and, when you explicitly approve a post, to publish it on your behalf. You can disconnect at any time from your settings.

• To build your professional identity report, voice profile and score.
• To generate content, signals, daily cards and job matches personalised to you.
• To send the notifications and emails you've opted into.
• To operate billing, prevent abuse and keep the service secure.
• To improve the product using aggregated, de-identified usage information.

To generate personalised output, relevant parts of your profile and knowledge are sent to third-party AI model providers acting as our processors. We send only what's needed for each request and do not sell your data.

We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run KnownBy (hosting, AI processing, email delivery and payments), when you ask us to (for example, publishing a post), or when required by law.

We keep your data while your account is active. You can export your data as JSON or delete your account at any time from settings; deletion removes your profile, knowledge and content from our active systems.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Most of these are available directly in the product; for anything else, contact us at support@knownby.ai.

We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted connections, hashed passwords and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
